Welcome to the MDJH Technology Wiki!

This Wiki is for all staff members at MDJH who are interested in increasing instructional technology integration on our campus through collaboration on projects, idea and tip sharing, and staff-to-staff technology support.
STaR Chart data from the last three years reveals a gap between potential for technology integration at our campus and actual use of our available resources.
With the removal of Instructional Technology Facilitators from our campuses, we must now rely more on each other to continue our progress in the area of "Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support." To keep this area strong on our campus, we must become our own ITFs and support each other.
Our primary goals, therefore, are to collaborate on ideas for using technology to promote higher-order thinking and to assist each other in increasing our own technology proficiency to move our campus toward "Advanced Tech" in higher-order thinking and teacher proficiency.

A Wiki is a Web 2.0 tool that allows all members to create and edit content. As soon as you become a member, you may edit any page by clicking the "EDIT" button in the upper left-hand corner. To create a new page, just click "New Page" in the right-hand menu. Editing toolbars work much like those in our TeacherWebs.
Because all members can edit content, it is important to be respectful and deliberate in your edits. Think carefully before deleting content, and seek first to contribute.
Confused? Take advantage of the "Technology FAQ" page in this Wiki. Post your question, and allow another user to answer it.

A Wiki can only be successful when all members contribute. There is no reason to feel unqualified to post in this Wiki. Even the posting of a problem or question in our discussion or FAQ section will help this Wiki to grow in depth, breadth, and usefulness.
A Wiki is, by its nature, a work in progress. Ideas and projects need not be perfect or complete to be posted on the Wiki. In fact, this tool provides us the opportunity to nurture nascent ideas into maturity through collaboration. This Wiki is our community, created by teachers for teachers; so don't be shy!
To get full use of our Wiki, we will need the ability to access it from school computers. Building our Professional Learning Community on this page will provide us with a stronger argument for having wikispaces unblocked. Then, we will also be able to use this Web 2.0 tool for classroom projects as well.

Collaborate on group-created technology integration lesson plans.
Create a group "Technology FAQ" to aide in the transition from ITF support to staff-to-staff support.

Brainstorm and refine ideas for maximizing our use of technology resources.
- For example: Even though ELAR teachers do not yet have SmartBoards in class, how can we utilize the Smart Tools and Notebooks? How can we adapt the Smart technology to our resources?
- How can we use blogging through think.com promote student engagement with texts and higher-order thinking?
Offer solutions to technology issues that appear as we work towards technology integration.
